CID, one of the most iconic shows on Indian television, is set for a dramatic twist. Fans are in for a shock as reportedly makers are planning to end the role of ACP Pradyuman played by Shivaji Satam. The actor played the role since the beginning of the show and also reprised the character when CID was re-launched last year. Reportedly, the character who is will die in a bomb blast in one of the upcoming episodes.
According to a report by India Today, the antagonist, Barbosa( Tigmanshu Dhulia), will plant a bomb in the forthcoming episodes to take down the CID team. While the other members are saved, ACP Pradyuman dies. Tigmanshu Dhulia recently returned to CID to play the vicious and infamous Barbosa, the leader of the Eye Gang. The report quoted a source, “The team recently shot the episode, which will go on air in a few days. As of now, not many details have been shared as the makers want this to be a big shocker for fans.”
The report also mentioned that it is not confirmed if the character will die permanently or if the makers are planning to bring him back again.
Earlier, as the second season of CID started, Shivaji Satam expressed how excited he was to step into the shoes of ACP Pradyuman again. He told Etimes, “We were in talks for CID season two for a long time, but no one knew when it would happen. But it worked out smoothly this time, and we have already shot a few episodes. I am enjoying being back on the sets of CID. I missed playing ACP Pradyuman and connecting with the audience again.”
The first season of CID went off air on October 27, 2018, following a successful 20-year run on Sony TV. The drama had a skilled cast, including Aditya Srivastava as Sr. Inspector Abhijeet and Dayanand Shetty as Sr. Inspector Daya. CID 2 returned to Sony TV on December 21, 2024, after much anticipation, bringing back the main characters. The show is presently available for streaming on Netflix as well.
