Netizens call Ibrahim Ali Khan arrogant after he asks a fan ‘aapko photo chahiye ya nahi?’ and walks away | Hindi Movie News – The Times of India

Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan has found himself at the centre of an online critism after a recent fan interaction. A video of him went viral on Reddit, showing him asking a fan, “aapko photo chahiye ya nahi?” (Do you want a photo or not?) before walking away. His behaviour has left the internet divided, with some calling him arrogant while others feel he is being judged too harshly.

Fan interaction
A short clip, with caption “Ibrahim arrogantly asking people if they want a picture with him” was shared on Reddit. In the video, Ibrahim was seen outside his gym when a fan approached him. After a quick handshake, he asked the fan if they wanted a picture but did not wait for an answer before moving on. Many also noticed that he seemed to wipe his hand after the handshake, which further fuelled criticism.

Social media reactions
As soon as the video surfaced on Reddit, people rushed to share their opinions. One user commented, “He was only good as a concept, should have stayed the mysterious, elusive Pataudi prince instead of being a class clown.” Another wrote, “He wiped his hands off too.” A third person shared their disappointment, “I was a huge fan before his movie came (personality achi lagti thi), ab lag raha hai iska downfall jald hi aayega. Everything was bloody PR curated, personality kaise curate kar lete hai yeh log?”

His film debut and criticism
This is not the first time netizens slammed Ibrahim, he made his acting debut in ‘Nadaaniyan’, released on Netflix on 7th March 2025. The film, which also starred Khushi Kapoor, received mixed reviews, with both actors facing criticism for their performances. The lukewarm response has only added to the scrutiny around him.
Hansal Mehta says people are being very harsh
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta addressed the harsh criticism of Ibrahim and Khushi, calling it unfair. He told ETimes, “I do feel that people are being very harsh and unfair. What is sad is that, have we checked for the preparedness of these children before they have got their break? The kind of comments that people are passing are in terrible taste. I’m sure it must be traumatising for the young people. But we forget that their parents at one time, a lot of their parents at one time made very awkward beginnings too. They also had awkward debuts. It’s just that they were just not so much in the public eye then, as people are now, due to social media.”
He added, “They want to be launched by a big banner, irrespective of whether they have the big idea. They want that big banner, they want a big daddy to be advising them all the time. I feel sad when I see them being ridiculed by people. And my only plea to them is to keep their head down, focus on their work. The moment they perform well in something, no matter how well or badly done at the box office, they will be respected. Their first target should be to get respect with their work.”
