One of Bollywood’s most beautiful and highly talented actresses, Jaya Bachchan has turned a year old and wiser today. As the actress is celebrating her 77th birthday, we got in touch with her for a candid chat, where she reflected on her illustrious career and bliss of motherhood.

Known for her iconic roles and powerful performances in Indian cinema, Jaya opens up about her pride in her two children, Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan, whom she considers her greatest achievements.
“There is not a single day in my life when I don’t look at them with pride, for being such fine human beings. I am so glad we didn’t bring them up to be spoilt brats,” replied Jaya with a lot of love and motherly pride in her eyes, highlighting the true milestone of her life.

In the same conversation, the actress also embraced her journey of life. “I’m very proud of every wrinkle and grey hair,” said the actress. The actress admitted to gracefully aging, and filmly mentioned that she has never gone under the knife, be it for botox or any other beauty enhancement regime. “I never used anything artificial on my face. Never will.”

From ‘Guddi’ to ‘Uphaar,’ ‘Abhimaan,’ ‘Mili,’ ‘Koshish,’ and more, Jaya Bachchan established herself as a versatile star with every performance, and she told us, ‘Doosri Sita,’ ‘Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa,’ ‘Fiza,’ and ‘Phagun,’ are a few films of hers that she is fond of.
Speaking of ‘Phagun,’ decades ago, Jaya Bachchan wanted to work on the remake of the said movie, where she wanted to play Waheeda Rahman’s role of the mother and desired to have Kajol filling in the shoes of her character of a daughter.
“Oh, that was very long ago. Now, I’ve no such ambitions. I’m just happy doing the occasional interesting role that comes my way. Recently I was in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. I really enjoyed being wicked for the first time,” she said, addressing the subject.
She also shared how much she enjoyed playing a villain in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.’
