iPadOS 19 could finally get the upgrades that will allow Apple to make it run like a Mac system thanks to some OS-level changes and features.

The iOS 19 version is being widely awaited thanks to the news about some big changes expected from Apple this year. But that’s not the only major change the company could have in store, with the iPadOS 19 update also being tipped to receive much-needed upgrades that could make it work like macOS on Macs.
The report from Bloomberg this week suggests Apple is making wholesale changes across its platforms, and the iPadOS 19 version will not be left out from the action. The WWDC 2025 is slated for June 2025, where we will see all these new Apple OS versions unveiled.
iPadOS 19 Update – Finally Like MacOS?
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg claims Apple will offer three big upgrades with the iPadOS 19 version to make it operate like a Mac. He specifically points out that the new iPadOS version could get better with “productivity, multitasking and app window management.” He does not reveal further details about the new version for iPad users but these three elements on the platform will definitely give it a big performance boost at the OS level.
After all, the company has upgraded most of its new iPad Air and Pro models with the M3 or M4-series chips, which are well-equipped to deliver Mac-level performance on these slates. If Apple does manage to tweak and upgrade iPadOS 19 with these features and enhancements, we could finally get close to the dream of making the iPads an alternative to the Macs or a laptop.
iOS 19 And Other Big Updates Coming To WWDC 2025
Apple WWDC 2025 will be taking place from June 9 to June 13, 2025. The company has also confirmed the WWDC 2025 edition will be livestreamed online but giving a select group of people the opportunity to attend the event in person at the Apple Park in California.
Reports claim iOS 19 will see changes in the icons for the apps on iPhone and complete redesign of the iOS UI is not being ruled out. The system elements could also get a new look while the control centre should be another big focus for Apple if the iOS 19 redesign does come through.
But it is not just iOS that will be expected to see some changes, as Apple looks to make all its products work seamlessly within the ecosystem.
