Is is quite unusual to come across an exhibition where the gallery and the work itself arrive at a kind of tandem, as though it were custom-made for the contours of that specific space. But that’s exactly what Anita Dube has achieved with her latest solo exhibition, Three Storey House, at Delhi’s Vadehra Art Gallery (on till April 19). The gallery’s three-floored building is the perfect conduit for Dube’s vision. The top floor consists of abstract works (fabric, glue and plywood) she made during the pandemic and they evoke that sense of alienation that so many of us shared at the time. As we move down, each level takes on a different tone and form.
