RCB comes up with unique initiative to teach fans Kannada using Jalebi

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have come up with a unique initiative to teach fans their local language, Kannada using the sweet dish Jilebi. RCB shared the news with their fanbase through their social media channels, inviting people from across the country to learn the language in the sweetest manner possible.

The campaign invites fans to “taste the language” with specially designed, edible Jilebis shaped like Kannada words. These limited-edition Kannada Jilebis will be available exclusively at the RCB Bar & Caf in Bengaluru from April 8 to 11.

Fans can scan the Jilebi pack to unlock a series of beginner-friendly Kannada lessons on RCB’s YouTube channel, featuring the likes of RCB stars such as Virat Kohli, Tim David, Yash Dayal etc amongst others. RCB is also sponsoring free Kannada learning sessions for the 1000 fans that they can take or gift their non-native Bengalurean friends.

Fans can email “Jilebi Kodi” to jilebikodi@gmail.com to win Kannada lessons sponsored by RCB — further encouraging participation and language learning.

Meanwhile, RCB are on a roll in the ongoing season, having won three out of the four matches so far. They began their campaign with a seven-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and further beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their homeground MA Chidambaram Stadium after a whopping 17 years.

They suffered their first loss of the season against the Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets, which also happened to be their first home game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, they bounced back with a 12-run win against Mumbai Indians, their first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after ten years.

RCB are performing as a unit under the leadership of their new captain Rajat Patidar with everyone making contributions in their victory. Hence, the ongoing season which is also the 18th in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is being seen as lucky one for RCB’s jersey no 18, Virat Kohli.

Hence, fans are expecting RCB to finally end their trophy drought in the ongoing season and they will be eager to continue winning momentum against Delhi Capitals (DC) later tonight.
