Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 Live Updates: As the Budget Session of the Parliament inches closer to its end on April 4, the government is all set to take up the Waqf (Amendment) Bill for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The House is likely to witness chaos as the Opposition said that all INDIA bloc parties are united to “defeat the legislation”.
Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will bring a motion to take up the Bill with amendments. A debate on the matter will be held, during which he will address the House and then seek the passage of the Bill.
The Bill was introduced last year and was subsequently referred to a joint parliamentary committee.
