Orange Cap in IPL 2025: Pooran’s whirlwind 70-run knock and Marsh’s 53-run contribution helped them move to first and second in the orange cap rankings after Lucknow Super Giants beat Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.

Orange Cap in IPL 2025 (Most Runs):
Lucknow Super Giants chased down a target of 191 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad to post a 5-wicket win over the hosts at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in the 2025 edition of the IPL on Thursday to pick up their first win of the tournament as Nicholas Pooran’s whirlwind 70 off just 26 deliveries and Mitch Marsh’s measured 52 off 31 balls helped LSG make a mockery of the chase.
Following the maelstorm innings, Pooran soared to the top of the Orange Cap rankings with 145 runs in 2 games, with the Windies maverick notching up a half-century in both innings. Marsh follows his Lucknow teammate in the table with 124 runs as the Australian batter also brought up his second half-century in as many games this season.
Travis Head, who top-scored for SRH on the day with a 47-run knock, climbed to third ahead of his new teammate Ishan Kishan, who fell for a golden duck on the day to Shardul Thakur. Head took his tally to 114 runs for the season as Kishan’s count remained unmoved at 106.
Rajasthan Royals’s Dhruv Jurel completes the top five of the run-getters rankings with 103 runs in his two outings this season. Kolkata Knight Riders’ Quinton de Kock, Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer, RR captain Sanju Samson, Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharshan and KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane close out the top-10 of the highest run-getters in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.
